Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do hosts annual Breaking Boards, Breaking Chains fundraiser, May 12, 2018

Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do held its annual Breaking Boards, Breaking Chains fundraiser for the International Justice Mission (IJM) in the Great Plains College gymnasium, May 12. Students have been gathering pledges in the run-up to the event and they used various Tae Kwon Do techniques to break close to 300 boards. The event raised about $15,500 and donations were still being received. Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do has raised around $35,500 for IJM during the past four years. IJM works in various countries across the globe to end slavery, sexual violence, human trafficking, and forced labour. The funds raised by the club this year will be used by IJM for the rescue and recovery of child sex trafficking victims in Kolkata, India.
