Five Alarm Funk at Long Day’s Night Festival

Make sure you wear your comfy shoes on June 23rd for Five Alarm Funk.

 

This Vancouver-based band is eight men strong and over a decade deep into a career that has seen it release five acclaimed albums and burn up stages across the country on six national tours.
And this vehicle isn’t about to slow down.  In fact, Five Alarm Funk is just picking up steam.
They released their 6th studio album, Sweat, on March 3, 2017. Sweat gets right to the roots of what Five Alarm Funk is all about: epic, intense arrangements, heavy groove and a ton of fun.
Five alarm funk describes themselves as gypsy-rock, Afro-funk, latin, Ska, and punk.
You won't want to miss this rocking fusion dance party  Tickets $35. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and music starts at 8:30 p.m.

Opening for Five Alarm Funk are The Steadies, a high energy power trio from Saskatoon, who mix pop-rock and dub-funk with rock steady beats and reggae influences, creating their own genre, "island rock".
With the local Black Bridge Brewery providing draught beer there are no reasons to stay home.
A limited number of Early Bird Festival Passes for all four nights are only $110 and are available at Pharmasave or Picatic.com. In June the Festival Passes will cost $125 for all four nights.
