On Sat., Feb. 10, the Blenders Music Series is pleased to host Nuela Charles at the Lyric Theatre in Swift Current.

Nuela Charles is a Canadian, Swiss, and Kenyan musician, who plays a unique meld of soul, pop, R & B, jazz, and hip-hop music. Don’t miss out on this amazing performance!
Nuela Charles is a singer-songwriter whose music is one-part soul, and another part pop. Charles was born in Kenya. A few years later, her family moved to Switzerland before relocating to Edmonton. She started her music career in 2012 and since then she has released two albums. Her first album “Aware” was released in 2012, and her second album “The Grand Hustle” was released in 2016.
Charles’ music from her first album “Aware” was used in a dozen television programs and films in both the U.S. and Canada.
That same album earned Nuela Charles an Edmonton Music Prize, a Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artists award, and a nomination for the Western Canadian Music Award-Urban Artist of the Year. According to Metro, “Canadian sass-pot Nuela Charles is cocked, locked and ready to be shot onto the world stage with a soulful voice that may one day fill the Amy Winehouse-shaped holes in everyone’s hearts.”
Tickets for Nuela Charles can be purchased at Pharmasave for $30. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and music will begin at 8:30 p.m.
