Val Marie a busy place this August

A Poetry Machine for Kids, a community Words and Music Open Mic night, and an Ambassador of Poetry are all coming to Val Marie and Grasslands National Park in August.

A diverse range of images created by members of the Image West Photographic Association of southwest Saskatchewan is currently on display in an exhibition at the Art Gallery of Swift Current (AGSC).

A swarm is coming! The Beehive Design Collective, a non-profit arts and activism organization dedicated to “cross- pollinating the grassroots,” is heading this way to share their recently completed work, Mesoamérica Resiste.

The Lyric Theatre is set to present its ninth annual Chautauqua Summer Theatre Festival, July 7-9, although the tradition goes back much further.

A collection of 10 short films about special people and places in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan was a hit with those who came out to see the film earlier this month and in May at nine different venues.

Artwork by Val Marie artists will be celebrated at a reception at Val Marie’s provincially-recognized ecomuseum Prairie Wind & Silver Sage on Thursday, June 23 from 7:30-9 p.m.
