January 1 is here. It is a new day. Quietly I sit in stillness and drink a cup of yummy dark coffee. No one is up. Even the streets outside are quiet and asleep. It appears like the whole world is awakening to this day of newness, hope and beginnings. I am ready.
The balance of dark and light and the time of light and shadow is upon us as Dec. 21 is Winter Solstice.
It is early morning. Dark. The almost full moon is still in the sky.
The setting: I am living in the Philippines and visiting my friends on the island of Siquijor. It took a few boat trips to get here, but I made it.
The setting: I am sitting in a comfy chair. Light cascades through the window and casts light and shadow on the floor in front of me. Gentle music plays and a water fountain whispers in the background.
What would you say if you were asked the following question, “Would you like to experience more joy or freedom in your life?”
I imagine that you would say, “Yes, of course I’d like more joy and freedom.”
