SEAWA hosting rural stewardship education forum

A second education forum hosted by the South East Alberta Watershed Alliance (SEAWA) will focus on rural stewardship March 10.

A Career and Technologies Foundation (CTF) partnership between Prairie Rose School Division and the Medicine Hat College is going so well, it will likely be expanded in the next school year.

Officials with the Action Surface Rights Association have planned what should be an interesting annual general meeting March 8. Organizers have worked hard to secure guest speakers who will hit the highlights of some timely topics including collecting unpaid rent, how oil companies are still profiting with low oil prices, and  the especially hot topic of orphan wells.

Residents of Ward 1 for Prairie Rose School Division, which includes New Brigden, Oyen, Acadia Valley and the Bindloss areas, will head to the polls March 9.

Adjustments have been made to the honorarium paid to the chairperson of the Prairie Rose School Division Board of Trustees effective the beginning of February.

It was yet another step forward for two southern Alberta journeyman competing in WorldSkills competition later this year, as they each completed a four-day WorldSkills Canadian Trial Feb. 11-14 at Medicine Hat College.

There will be an election in Ward 1 for the Prairie Rose School Division (PRSD) with residents in the northeast portion of the division heading to the polls March 9.

Prairie Rose School Division board trustees had a chance to sit down with Alberta Education Minister David Eggen and share their concerns about education in the coming months before the release of a provincial 2017 budget this spring.
