What does $50 mean to you? This is a question that came up at a recent Eliminators' Car Club meeting.

To a lot of us car guys it means another Canadian Tire socket or screwdriver set, or perhaps a set of booster cables or a tin sign. Every year we do a gift exchange between club members for Christmas, this year we decided rather than file away another token tool set or sign maybe we would just donate that money to a good cause. We are quite sure that $50 could mean the world to someone down on their luck at this time of year. Our club president Nathan Seibel proudly presented a cheque for $1250 to Major Don Grad of the Salvation Army in honor of the city declared “Salvation Army Week”
We would like to use this opportunity to challenge you to re-think your gag gift or maybe your ugly sweater contest at this years Christmas party and donate that money to one of the many service groups in the area that are in need.
