Lethbridge based DJ crew and electronic music production company, BassWorks, along with their partners Unified Vibe and B93.3 will be hosting the 6th Annual Lethbridge Electronic Music Festival (LEMF) on Saturday, August 19th in Galt Gardens park.

To celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary the Steeplejack Festival presents Prairie Roots & Cowboy Boots on Aug. 12, at 7:30 p.m in Herbert, Sask.

The past year has been a musical rollercoaster ride for Saskatchewan banjo player Eliza Mary Doyle.

South Country Fair bringing back the music

This summer is bringing music back to southern Alberta with the South Country Fair. The three-day festival that’s taking place July 21-23, is back again this year, with more fun, sun and performances than ever.

The amiable Laura Hayes has always been a storyteller of sorts. The name is recognizable for many reasons. People in Alberta will remember her long career with the CTV television station affiliate CFCN in Calgary as a well-respected news reporter and producer. Now, Hayes is a roots artist who has a few CDs under her belt. Her debut CD, Storyteller was released three years ago and she is currently working on a new one.

Anyone who has been at a polka dance will tell you how much fun it is. Just ask the many people from western Canada who have spent many years travelling to Medicine Hat and now Redcliff for the Medicine Hat Polka Fest.
