Chautauqua Festival returns to the Lyric Theatre

Chatauqua'bout a great weekend! The Lyric Theatre presents the 11th Chautauqua Performing Arts Festival in Swift Current July 12 - 14. This year’s line-up offers audiences an eclectic mix of four plays with local and global themes, including one show perfect for families.

A Celtic folk duo from Kitchener, Ontario, will be playing at various venues around southwest Saskatchewan and southeast Alberta during the next two weeks on their 2018 summer tour that coincides with the release of their debut vocal album.

The Empress Theatre is pleased to stage another play this year, with the drama 12 Angry Men running July 10-14.

Rosebud School of the Arts grads honoured

Rosebud School of the Arts (RSA) celebrates two recent graduates who were honoured with prestigious awards.

Seven emerging playwrights will present one-act plays at the Budding Playwright’s Festival under the mentorship of award-winning playwright Lucia Frangione, known to local audiences for her plays Chickens, Cariboo Magi, and Holy Mo.

Renowned Canadian fiddle champ Scott Woods and his band will play traditional country fiddle music, swing, gospel and more at the Empress Theatre on Friday, May 25 at 7 p.m.
